Amazima Ministries | Franklin, TN Product Photographer Brentwood, TN Photographer

I was so honored when I was asked to photograph a special product for Amazima Ministries a few weeks ago. I was so excited too, because of what this organization does and stands for.

Amazima Ministries {uh-mahz-i-muh} meaning "Truth"} was founded by a local 19 year old girl {Katie Davis} in 2008. Only a few years later, the organization is feeding, educating, and sharing the love of Jesus to hundreds of orphaned Ugandan children. They have various programs and outreaches that are literally changing the lives of these beautiful children and their families; Programs such as sponsoring a child in Uganda which gives each child three meals a day, a Christian education, school supplies, and medical care. Or the Masese Outreach, which provides lunch to over 1,000 of the poorest children in the area. This is just a fraction of the things that Amazima is doing on a daily basis to help these adorable children.

One of their newest ventures is magazine bead necklaces and bracelets. This necklace program allows the women from some of the poorest areas to learn a skill and to sustain their families as well. The women sit around in a circle together with their children and all, making these unique pieces to sell to you and me in the U.S. So how could I not be excited to photograph these?

I had sooooo much fun during this two part session.I have a very specific vision for how I wanted the photos to look and I am so thrilled that they look just as I invisioned!

Looking at the necklaces and bracelets, each tells such a different story. I can only imagine these women just sitting around together, making the jewelry and chatting about their day. The necklaces come in a variety of colors, anything from purple to blue to green and everything in between. I love how no two necklaces are the same! There are even some necklaces that are a solid color with just one bead that is a different color. I like to think that the woman making that necklace did it on purpose, like it's her signature :)

I am so excited to share these photos with you! I hope that you would consider purchasing one of these products which goes towards such an amazing cause. The necklaces and bracelets will be available for purchase through Amazima on their website starting mid-September... I'm thinking Christmas gifts!

Henry is 3 Months Old | Franklin, TN Baby and Child Photographer

Little Henry is such a cutie! Not only did I love photographing him, but I really enjoyed meeting another great family.

During the session, Henry was super sleepy. He hadn't gotten his nap that afternoon! Luckily with some food and a power nap, we got some sweet photos of this little man.

I am so excited to see how Henry changes and grows over the coming months! It's always so fun seeing their features change and their little personalities develop, too.

Looking forward to our next session, Henry! :)

{Meet Emma} | Spring Hill, TN Newborn Photographer

Meet sweet little Emma. I was so excited to meet this little girl since I had done her Mommy's maternity session {blogged here:

http://kharrisonphotography.blogspot.com/2011/06/jennifers-maternity-session-franklin-tn.html

When I arrived at Jennifer's home, I immediately fell in love with Emma. She was super tiny and had a full head of dark hair.

Not only was she sweet but she was also one of the best newborns I've ever done a session of. She slept the entire time, hardly making a peep. Of course this made my job especially easy! But in turn, I got some incredible shots of this princess... so much that I couldn't stop posting photos of her! :) I am so in love, aren't you?

Josiah Turns Two | Franklin, TN Child Photographer

You know its too hot when you pull up to the park in the evening and you are almost the only car there. Luckily, Josiah and his parents were willing to battle the heat for this session!

Josiah turns two this month... and I must say, I forgot how on-the-go two year olds really are! I definitely got my work out chasing after this little guy during his session :) But luckily, this cutie pie was worth it!

Happy {early} Birthday, Josiah!
